Annual Notification: All career and technical education courses and programs are offered at Pierpont regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, or disability.

Program Designations & Requirements

Pierpont is approved to offer Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Science, or Associate of Fine Arts, and Associate of Science degree programs. Associate degrees may be granted upon successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of credit. A Certificate of Applied Science degree may be granted upon successful completion of at least 30 semester hours of credit.

Application for Graduation

Students who are approaching completion of a program must apply for graduation by the appropriate deadline.  The application process is online via ROAR.  The deadlines for the application are as follows:

  • Fall (December) - October 1
  • Spring (May) - March 1
  • Summer (August) - June 1

These deadline apply for all associate degrees, certificate degrees, and skill sets.

English Performance

All students who are candidates for degrees must attain a grade of “C” or above in required English courses for graduation. Required courses vary (ENGL 1104ENGL 1108ENGL 1109) depending on the program of study.

GPA (Grade Point Average)

All students must have a GPA of 2.0 or better (institutional and cumulative) to graduate and meet all program course requirements and institutional requirements.

Minimum Residency Requirements

For an associate degree at least one semester’s work (at least 15 credit hours) and at least 8 of the last 15 hours in residence are required. For the certificate degree at least eight semester hours work in residence are required.

“Honors” and “Highest Honors” Designation

Candidates seeking an associate degree who maintain an overall grade point average of 3.40 - 3.99 receive the designation of “Honors” on graduation announcements and the graduation program.  Candidates seeking an associate degree who maintain an overall grade point average of 4.0 receive the designation of “Highest Honors” on graduation announcements and the graduation program.  The grade point average is determined at the end of the penultimate semester (semester prior to graduation).
