HLIN 2211 - Diagnoses Medical Coding3 hr(s). This course is designed to emphasize the history and development of the current coding classification systems. In this course, the students will learn how to code diagnoses as it applies to the various health care settings. Application of the current coding classification systems will be taught. Prepared software will be used to enhance the understanding of the current classification system. Financial implications of the current classification system will be discussed. “C” or better Prerequisite(s): HLCA 1100 , HLCA 1170 , and HLCA 1171 Restriction(s): Health Information Technology majors only
