Program Purpose
The Liberal Studies Associate of Arts degree provides students with the educational foundation needed to transfer to a Bachelor’s Degree program or for many occupations that require at least two years of college.
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates will have demonstrated competency in the outcomes of the individual General Education courses they completed.
Opportunities
Students planning to transfer to four-year programs should consult the requirements of those programs to select the most appropriate courses from the Liberal Studies program.
Through an articulation agreement with West Virginia University (WVU), the Liberal Studies BA Pathway Option modifies Pierpont’s Liberal Studies AA degree while satisfying all requirements for graduation, and identifies course choices in the model schedule that transfer and meet the undergraduate General Education requirements for the Multidisciplinary Studies Bachelors of Arts degree at WVU. Any course substitutions must be approved by Pierpont/WVU B.A. Pathways Advisors.
