Program Purpose
This Advanced Skill Set enables students to calibrate advanced industrial instrumentation and process control and final control devices.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Calibrate pressure, level, flow and temperature instruments
- Calibrate analyzer instruments (e.g. pH, Conductivity, Gas Spectroscopy)
- Install and tune instruments for an integrated multiple point control system (e.g. cascade control, level, pressure, temperature flow, input-output flow matching, etc.) to run within given parameters
- Explain the principles of wireless and digital communication systems
- Install and test wireless communication systems
Opportunities
Skills that enable students to function in a power generation station, midstream processing plant, or in a manufacturing facility as an operator, maintenance technician, or instrumentation and controls technician are skills that are in-demand.
