Program Purpose

The Certificate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems Technology - CyberSecurity is designed to further the skill sets and credentials of IT professionals who have graduated with a related degree at the Associates Degree level or higher.

The CyberSecurity Track provides students with comprehensive knowledge of computer and network design in the area of information security. The program enables students to understand the threats that face computers and networks. In addition, the program enables and encourages students to learn essential problem-solving skills, industry best practices, software applications, and core technical skills used by information systems and technology industry professionals. The program also prepares students to take information technology industry certifications, e.g. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT), and CompTIA Security +.

Opportunities

Graduates are qualified for positions as systems administrators, network security technician, cyber security analyst, entry-level digital forensics and entry-level penetration specialist.

Graduates may continue their education towards a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
