~CHM 1101L - General Chemistry Lab1 hr(s).
Complementary to CHEM 1101, the laboratory focuses on the study of the major concepts and theories required for an understanding of chemical phenomena. This general chemistry laboratory course is an introduction to basic quantitative chemical laboratory techniques. Principal topics include safety in chemistry lab, atomic and molecular structure, gas laws, stoichiometry, changes of state, chemical binding, solutions, acid-base equilibria, and energetics in chemical reactions. Laboratory work includes quantitative measurements of solutions, synthesis, and characterization of chemicals by physical methods.
