LPNC 1121 - Maternal and Pediatric Nursing Clinical Practicum for the Practical Nurse

This practicum course is designed to provide LPN students with hands-on, clinical experience in pediatric and obstetric nursing care. Focusing on maternal, newborn, and women’s health care, this practicum will allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings under the supervision of clinical instructors. Topics covered in this practicum include pregnancy and fetal development, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. Students will gain practical skills in monitoring fetal and maternal health, performing assessments of newborns, and providing emotional and physical support to mothers during and after childbirth. This practicum is designed to prepare students to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring the health and well-being of mothers, newborns, and children. Successful completion of all laboratory, theoretical, and clinical components are required to receive credit for this course.
Prerequisite(s): LPNC 1101, LPNC 1105, LPNC 1107, LPNC 1115, LPNC 1130, LPNC 1131, LPNC 1134, and LPNC 1135
